晚清名臣李端棻，除在政治、教育上有所建树外，其生平亦好诗。作为一名爱国文人，他以强烈的社会责任感和对社会的敏锐洞察力，将其对社会政治、民生疾苦的关注发而为诗，在诗歌中多反映晚清社会现实，关注时政，宣传维新变法，抒发自己爱国忧民的情感，体现出经世、警世、救世的思想理念。李端棻文学素养深厚，诗中多用典故，剪裁得当、运用自如。其诗作多借物抒怀，体现出他孤洁清高的真挚性情。李端棻诗歌语言自然简洁、明白晓畅，整体风格呈现出平易质实的特点。

Li Duanfen, a famous minister in the late Qing Dynasty, not only made some achievements in politics and education, but also was a good poem in his life. As a patriotic literati, with a strong sense of social responsibility and keen insight into society, he wrote his attention to the social politics and the people's livelihood, in which he reflected the social reality of the late Qing Dynasty, focused on the current politics, propaganda the reform, expressed his patriotism and reflected the ideas of the world; Li Duanfen has profound literary quality, versatile allusions, proper cutting and use freely. His poems borrow things to express, reflecting his pure and sincere temperament. Li Duanfen's poetry language is naturally concise, clear and smooth, and the overall style presents the characteristics of plain, easy, quality and solid.
